Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment

Drug addiction is a complex illness characterized by intense and at times, uncontrollable drug cravings, along with compulsive drug-seeking behaviors. This behavior results from prolonged exposure on brain functioning. Addiction is a brain disease that affects multiple brain circuits, including those involved in reward and motivation, learning and memory and inhibitory control over behavior. Treatment is not simple. At Journey into Wellness, LLC, we incorporate several components that are tailored to the needs of the individual.

Research has shown that individuals who start using drugs and/or drinking before the age of 18 are 7 times more likely to develop issues with substance abuse as adults. Journey into Wellness, LLC consists of a team of experts who are dedicated to helping to remove the barriers through outpatient behavioral treatment to individuals whose lives are impacted by substance use / abuse / dependency.

Outpatient Services Include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), seeks to help individuals recognize, avoid and cope with the situations in which they are most likely to abuse drugs.
  • Multidimensional family therapy, developed for adolescents with drug abuse problems—as well as their families—addresses a range of influences on their drug abuse patterns and is designed to improve overall family functioning.
  • Motivational Interviewing, capitalizes on the readiness of individuals to change their behavior and enter treatment.
  • Individual sessions, structured according to the needs of the individual.
  • Group therapy sessions empower recovering individuals to resist drug and alcohol abuse by acquiring a drug-free lifestyle and developing new life skills.
  • Family sessions engage families in counseling and substance education programs. Families learn how to better cope with substance abuse issues, treatment and the recovery process.
  • Relapse Prevention, with the goal of identifying and preventing high-risk situations.

  • Programs operate daily and include evenings and weekends.
